Where the System Ends, CAA Begins. We Built the College We Couldn't Find. CAA Story #31: Student Rowan

For student Rowan T., CAA is more than just a place for him to take classes, it is a community where he has built friendships, connected with professors, and discovered new interests.

Rowan started taking classes online during the pandemic, and believes that the first time he came to campus in person was in 2021. The friendships he has made, and the people he has met at CAA, makes it so much more than just a school to him.

Rowan loves the community he found at CAA, so much so that sometimes he comes to campus to just hang out with and see his friends and professors. CAA is a place where Rowan feels comfortable to be himself, accepted, and welcomed.

Another thing Rowan likes about CAA is the variety of classes that are offered every semester. With so many different options to choose from, he has been able to explore all the different subjects that are of interest to him.

Rowan remembers seeing a friend perform in a musical, and says that is what sparked his interest in theater classes. Apart from theater classes, Rowan enjoys exploring new interests in the variety of classes offered at CAA. A class he is currently taking again is Computer Gaming, he likes how the class focuses on a different game every semester and exposes him to new games.

It does not matter if he is attending a class, talking with a professor, or catching up with friends, Rowan has found a place where he enjoys spending his time and truly feels accepted.

Rowan’s story is a reminder that CAA is bigger than just a place to take classes, it is a welcoming community that accepts and encourages people to try new things.
