Where the System Ends, CAA Begins. We Built the College We Couldn't Find. CAA Story #28: CAA Parent & Grants Manager Tiffany :)
Tiffany keeps CAA on the straight and narrow when it comes to grants management!
Tiffany Peronto was looking for an afternoon activity for her children, and found out about CAA by asking around at the morning program they were currently enrolled in. She immediately signed them up and started attending afternoon classes with them. She joined CAA as a supportive parent, watching her kids enjoy the classes and join the CAA community, and after about a year she started looking to see if she could work and help CAA grow.
With a background in finance, Tiffany found out that CAA was looking for someone to help manage their grants. It felt like the perfect way to combine her professional experience with her personal life and still be there for her kids. She applied for the position, and in October, she will celebrate two years as a member of the CAA staff.
As Grants Manager, Tiffany plays an important behind-the-scenes role by overseeing grant money after it is awarded, helping ensure that CAA has the resources to continue supporting its students. Recently, Tiffany has also taken on the role of Volunteer Coordinator, connecting community volunteers with the professors and programs that need them. By working closely with professors to understand their volunteer needs, and broadcasting the opportunity to CAA’s list of volunteers, she helps strengthen the support system that makes CAA what it is today.
Although much of her work happens behind a desk, Tiffany has learned that life at CAA is anything but predictable.
One of her boldest memories is when she was substituting in an acting class. Expecting to only need to supervise the class, she suddenly found herself thrown onto the stage, acting and singing alongside the students. It is a memory that pushed her out of her comfort zone, but it perfectly captures that CAA is a place where everyone is encouraged to step outside their comfort zone, try something new, and grow together.
That spirit is one of the reasons Tiffany loves being part of the CAA community. She admires how CAA inspires students to gain confidence and discover talents they never knew they had.
