Where the System Ends, CAA Begins. We Built the College We Couldn't Find. CAA Story #27: Site Manager James F.
James walked into CAA's site in 2018 and transformed our school!!
Sometimes the most meaningful opportunities come from simply being curious about what someone else is doing. That is exactly what happened to James Fu, he decided to look up what a friend was doing, and got introduced to CAA.
After graduating from San José State University with a degree in History, James was exploring what he could do next. One day, he noticed that his friend Professor Anthony was working at CAA and James decided to reach out and learn more.
James started his time at CAA as a volunteer, he spent his time assisting teachers in classes, supporting students, and gaining a deeper understanding of the different classes CAA offered. Through volunteering, he discovered a welcoming community and the opportunities to develop new skills.
James tried teaching his own class with Professor Anthony, but quickly realized he preferred helping more behind the scenes and that teaching was not for him. Rather than seeing that as a setback, James continued volunteering at CAA and soon got hired on as a site manager.
In his role, he manages attendance, handles administrative responsibilities, and helps ensure that daily campus operations run smoothly. His work behind the scenes plays an important part in supporting the students, staff, and the communities overall satisfaction with CAA.
Now, years after first walking through CAA's doors as a volunteer, James has built a career centered on service, organization, and community. What started with a check in on a friend, has turned into a journey filled with growth, discovery, and meaningful impact.
