* A true and sincere thanks to the Mother Ginger Christmas in the Park Float team for doing such a spectacular job helping to showcase the incredible abilities of our CAA college students. A sincere salute to CAA to Mountain Mover parent volunteers of Moira Brown, Bill Alley, Maureena Craig for their incredible time and energy contributed as well as to the entire team of core parent volunteers who came out endless hours to create such an outstanding float. Still waiting to hear the winners – CAA’s float was the only one that made it on the NBC news!! 🙂

* A true and sincere shout out to CAA Parent Mountain Mover volunteers of Mary Pizzo & June Beck for coordinating the beautiful Annual CAA Thanksgiving Holiday Gathering at CAA last Friday night – it was joyful and incredibly heart-warming.

Tomorrow, Tuesday, December 3: Adobe Team-Building Gift Wrapping Day at CAA, 1:30 – 3pm. All CAA students welcome to join. The CAA Students will be helping an Adobe team of volunteers wrap 41 gifts for the beautiful children of Chandler Tripp preschool.

Wednesday, December 4: CAA Heroes Dancers & Children’s Music Sing-Along will be performing at Chandler Tripp preschool at 10:45am & 11:45am + help passing out the gifts from the Adobe employees to the children. Please email Professor Doug Werner to confirm your student can join on Wednesday at Chandler Tripp: doug.werner@collegeofadaptivearts.org

* This Saturday: College of Adpative Arts Annual Graduation Ceremony & Holiday Concert Choir is Saturday, December 7 from 2-4pm at the Historic Hoover Theatre on Park Ave. Student Valedictorian is post-graduate Stephanie Mendoza. Keynote Speaker will be Daniel Peck, President of Mission College. * Winter Quarter 2020 Schedule Now Out & Registration is now open for enrollment. Here’s the Winter 2020 Quarter Schedule for Reference and Circulation.

Fire & Earthquake Drills will be happening at the site – 1/day of the week for the rest of the quarter. Please prepare your students that each class will be practicing these drills. This is a good time to call/check-in with the front desk with any updated emergency contact information you’d like to provide in case of an emergency.

*New Winter Activity: CAA Gaming Team has now officially begun! As we ramp up the team for the Winter season, we’re starting with a specific invite-only for students who have demonstrated a passion for gaming and good sportsmanship.  The team will meet twice a month – the fee for the season is $50. If you’d like your student to be considered for this team, please email Gaming Team Coaches Matt Lindsay, matt.lindsay@collegeofadaptivearts.org, Angel Gonzalez, angel@collegeofadaptivearts.org, and Angel Coronado at angelc@collegeofadaptivearts.org.

The Regional Center Leadership has recently approved 10-Week Quarters for 2020 + a 2 times/year POS request vs. the current 4 time/year system. This means the first 2020 POS will include Winter and Spring Quarters 2020; the second POS for the year will encompass Summer & Fall Quarters.

Full 2020 Quarter Dates Below:
• Winter Quarter: Monday, Jan. 6 – Friday, March 20 – Mid-Quarter break: 2/10- 2/14
• Spring Quarter: Monday, April 6 – Friday, June 19  – Mid- Quarter break: 5/11 – 5/15
• Summer Quarter: Monday, July 6 – Friday, September 18 – Mid-quarter break: 8/10 – 8/14
• Fall Quarter: Monday, September 28 – Friday, December 18 – Mid-quarter break: 10/26 – 10/30 & Thanksgiving break: 11/23 – 11/27

Weekly Tours happen each Friday from 1-2 when school is in session. Please plan to schedule a Weekly Tour of the College each Friday school is in session to learn more about this lifelong, equitable collegiate model for special needs adults.

Showcasing Artistic Creations:  
Here is a photo of the phenomenal artistic creation of the Mother Ginger Float that was showcased last Friday night at Christmas in the Park Opening Ceremonies Parade. An incredible and dedicated team of parent volunteers worked phenomenally hard to set the CAA college students up to have their authentic abilities illuminated.
